Tandjung Sari Hotel Type: Beach Hotels - Location: Central Sanur - Price Range: From US$ 100 >
Tandjung Sari Hotel is a beachfront hotel nestled in tranquil fishing village of Sanur, set in amidst lush tropical gardens overlooking the Indian Ocean. The bungalows has evolved from traditional Balinese architectural principals and indigenous materials with thatched roofs and simple stonework to create an exotic visual image of an intimate community. A precious original Tandjung Sari Hotel opened in 1962 as a four-bungalow extension to the family home of Wija Wawo-Runtu. The scale of Tandjung Sari has purposely been kept small and today the hotel is a 26 bungalows holiday retreat steeped in old world charm unparalleled and unrivaled by other hotels.
Tandjung Sari derived its name from a small temple on the beach known by that name Tandjung meaning "cape" in Malay and Sari, which in Sanskrit generally means "the essence". It is literal translation being the stem of a flower. We adopted for translation "Cape of Flowers". It is located in Sanur, 25 minutes drive from Bali International Airport, 25 minutes from Kuta and just a step to the beach where you can try watersport activities.
Accommodation Like Bali itself, the hotel is an essay in beauty dedicated to the Gods. Every Tandjung Sari bungalow is as individual and as special as the guests resident themselves. It is still retains the exclusive ambience of a private family environment. From the moment the ceremonial gong is struck to herald an arrival, guests enter a world of tranquility and are watched over by discreet Indonesian staff dedicated to ensuring that every stay is one of comfort and convenience.
Each Balinese-style unit has its own private garden, with some offering the sensual freedom of an outdoor shower, large balcony or a bale. The two-storey beach bungalows offer breathtaking views of the ocean. All provide modern conveniences including air-conditioning, indoor bath & shower, telephones with International Direct Dialing facilities and a mini-bar. Discover antique folk, primitive and classical works of art, as well as colonial Dutch accessories throughout the property. The garden courtyards and Balinese-style architecture creates a natural setting for the Tandjung Sari permanent art collection.
The interiors rely almost exclusively on Balinese arts and crafts. The articulation of spaces and the rambling indirectness of the pathways a relaxed, leisurely-pace. The alang-alang (long grass) thatched roofs; the redbrick and warm browns of the woodwork blend in with the greens of the landscaping to provide an exotic visual image, superimposed over the ever-audible sounds of the nearby sea.
